As the women Nick Pascal escorts-for-hire through his employer begin to blend into one another, he gropes for more. When gangster Sal Elfrego beckons him from left field, Nick finds himself on the edge of a life of crime. And once he grasps the opportunities before him, he responds with gusto.
Thanks to its solid plot and prose, this hybrid crime/sleaze/noir novel flies above its sexy bones and delivers a memorable crime fiction wallop. It’s John Trinian’s (1933-2008) debut novel, originally published by Bedside Books in 1959.
Trinian went on to write six more novels before moving on to television where he wrote as Zekial Marko for The Rockford Files, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, Mission Impossible, and Toma.
